Natural convection.
Input-to-chassis and input-to- output insulation exceed 20MW at 500V; output -to-chassis shall exceed 20MW at 100V.
The UPS withstands dielectric voltage of 1500VDC for 1 minute between input-to-chassis and input-to-output.
Battery Protections
Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD)
A furnished redundant low voltage disconnect circuit provides protection for the battery, if battery voltage decreases below a present level.
The LVD circuit disconnects the battery bus at 1.8V/cell from loads, rectifier module, and protects the battery from excessive discharge.
The UPS outputs dry contact close on fail to indicate that LVD is disconnected.
RCS-PSU meet the EMI/EMC requirements of MIL-STD-461C, PART 1 &
2, specified herein:
CE01: Conducted
Emissions, (120 Hz - 20KHz).
CEO3 Conducted Emissions, (15 KHz-50KHz.
CS02: Conducted Susceptibility, (30 KHz to 400Mhz).
CS06: Conducted Emission, Power Leads, and Spikes.
RE02: Radiated Emissions, Electric Field (14 KHz to 1 GHz).
RS02: Radiated Susceptibility, Frequencies (30 Hz - 50KHz.)
RS03: Radiated Susceptibility, Electric Field (14 KHz to 1 GHz).

Protections
Protection against reversed battery connection to the power supply
Input protection against transients and spikes according to MIL-STD-704D
Input line protected by circuit breaker.
Output to battery 28VDC protected by circuit breaker.
Output 28VDC to load is protected by circuit breaker.
Output 28VDC to Battery is protected by circuit breaker.
The power supply shuts off without damage when input voltage is above/below the specified limits.
Over voltage protection
Over load - over current between 105% - 115%
Short circuit - the power supply withstands without damage short-circuit conditions. After removing
the short circuit condition the power supply will return to normal operation by itself.
Internal thermal protection shuts off the power supply output in case of overheating. The unit automatically resumes operation after cooling down.
Leakage current from the battery to the power supply when the power supply is in off,
shall be less than 10mA.
Constant voltage, constant current with automatic crossover
Mechanical Shock
RCS-PSU is not shall not suffer damage or subsequent failure to meet the specified performance when subjected to shock environment during transportation, handling, servicing and operation.
RCS-PSU designed and built to meet the mechanical shock test requirements as specified.
Test Methods
MIL-STD-810D Method 516.3 Procedure I.
Conditions - 40g @ 11msec/saw tooth, 3 shocks on each of 6 directions.
Operational Conditions
Temperature
RCS-PSU operates in low and high temperature operating conditions without experiencing physical
damage or deterioration
in performance
test conditions
of -40°C to +71°C, per MIL-STD-810D, Method 502.2 - Low
Temperature, Procedure II, (-40°C for 24 hours).
MIL-STD-810D, Method 501.2 - High Temperature, Procedure II, (+71°C for 24 hours).
Humidity.
RCS-PSU is designed and built to meet the humidity test requirements. The RCS-PSU shall maintain their specified performance when exposed to a relative humidity of 95% non-condensing for both
continuous and intermittent periods,
per MIL-STD-810C Method 507.1
(conducted for 3 cycles).
Vibration
RCS-PSU meets the specified performance when subjected to random vibration expected during operation for ground mobile and aircraft environments per MIL-STD-810D
